2/28/2014 UPDATE: Transition to the new county-wide digital P25 radio system for Fire and EMS agencies is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 10 and progress through April 22, 2014. During this transition, the audio feed will be a mix of former analog talkgroups, and new digital P25 talkgroups. Additional information on this transition will be provided when it becomes available.
Two scanner receivers, a Uniden BC-780XLT and a Realistic Pro-2006 provide the audio stream. The receivers are located in Philipsburg, which borders Centre and Clearfield Counties. The feed is provided using a dedicated Ultra PC with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor with 1 gig of Ram. The computer, router, and the scanner receivers are all on UPS backup. With the UPS backup, the audio feed will not experience down time as a result of momentary power fluctuations from adverse weather events.
