Main feed is being broadcast using RadioFeed on a dedicated Windows XP machine, with battery back up. (Nothing fancy....yet)
This stream originates from a Uniden BC350A Mobile.
The antenna setup for this scanner is outdoors at 25 Feet.

5-28-2015 @1330 Feed taken offline. As part of my ISPs upgrades, my speeds have increased, which forced me to install a new upgraded modem.

Bishop PD is a bit too far with the current antenna setup I have. Also, the radio traffic from Bishop PD interferes with other scanner traffic.
Bishop PD will eventually be added once I set up another outdoor antenna at 50 Feet, and will be fed on a separate Bishop only Feed, and will Cover Bishop PD, Bishop Fire, and Symons Ambulance Dispatch. Unknown date of feed going live.
10-01-2015 @ 1233 FEED ADVISORY: THIS FEED WILL BE UNDERGOING SOME SCANNER REPROGRAMMING AT SOME POINT IN THE NEXT 72 HOURS. THIS REPROGRAMMING WILL BE DONE LIVE ON THE AIR, SO THERE WILL BE MINIMAL LOSS OF SERVICE. DURING THE REPROGRAMMING, YOU WILL HEAR A SERIES OF "BEEPS" AND POSSIBLY SOME STATIC. ONCE BEGUN, A NOTE WILL BE PLACED HERE, AND SHOULD TAKE NO LONGER THAN 30-45 MINUTES. THIS IS BEING DONE TO IMPROVE COUNTY FIRE COVERAGE, AND ALSO TO ADD SOME FREQUENCIES FOR WHEN THERE IS A MAJOR EVENT OR DISASTER IN THE OWENS VALLEY. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

11-17-15 2222 Lone Pine Fire and Olancha fire added. Dispatch only. Fireground unavailable.
Having this frequency on here comes with a drawback. the adjacent frequency in the Inyo County Jail, which thier radios are low power, except when dispatch keys up. when they do, it will overpower the fire frequencies and create a loud burst of static. As of now nothing can be done to fix it short of purchasing a better actual scanner. Luckily the dispatcher does not talk on jail frequency very much.
11-24-15 Major feed outage! A breaker tripped in my house causing power to be lost to the network. I was not home at the time, so the batteries died, as did the feed. Sorry for the extended downtime.
12-13-2015 @ 1300 ish Power Failure, Backup lasted 12 Mins. Power back at 1340ish
Power outages keep occuring. I have zero control. On for now as of 15:35.
19:15 Update. Power stable. Storms remain in area.

1-2016 Above man was found alive.

4-14-2016 @ 1400-1700 Small internet burps being caused by a cable leak being traced. *COMPLETED*
5-26-2016 @ 1400 Power outage occured, Valley Wide. Feed went down at 1431 due to battery backup dying.
Network survived the entire outage, but the backup running the feed computer it self did die. Will need to purchase new backup power system to extend emergency power time.

New antenna system still planned for this feed. Antenna is here, I just need a mast to place it on, and wire it, and it will be ready to go.
7-15-16 Internet outage. Fiber cable was cut. All of Owens Valley affected.

Its been some time since I posted here. The feed has only been down a handful of times due to internet or power outages.
Plans for 2017: (Wishlish...Kinda)
New antenna system for feed scanner. (already have antenna and wiring)
Possibly, using new antenna system, Bishop PD may be added either full time on this feed, part time on this feed, or Bishop PD and Symons Ambulance (BIshop 2) on its own feed. (although, I hate to separate them, but there MAY be too much radio traffic for only one feed to handle if I add Bishop PD)
The feed computer has been running essentially non stop for almost 2 years, with minimal cleaning. I will need to take the feed offline at some point to clean the computer. I will announce the date ASAP.

CHP recieve is getting very scratchy. All this rain may have soaked my wires. I will be putting up new antenna system after the rains quit.

Above station maintenence complete, Actual downtime was 1620. Actual reconnect time was 2152. (5 Hours 32 Minutes.) Scheduled for 7 Hours.
New antenna is ready to be installed, Unknown ETA. Feed impact on installation day will be extrememly minimal. I expect zero downtime.

Owens Valley Scanner News was born.
6-29-2019 New Antenna has been installed for some time now. Its now wired in it permanent location. A brand new battery backup was added to power the feed PC. its battery time is between 90-120 minutes. Another battery powers the network required to feed the feed..
Bishop PD added to scan sequence .
