Allstarlink is comprised of thousands of nodes (locations) operated/owned by only licensed Amateur Radio operators. My license is NY3Z which can be verified on the FCC website. Each node is Internet connected to facilitate connections between nodes. Each node has access, by node number, to all other nodes presently online. For example, I may have my node connected to a node/station in Tampa, FL to keep up with amateurs in a hurricane watch area. Conversely, I may connect it to a node/station on the West coast to communicate with amateurs on that side of the country. Simply, other than to periodically identify itself, my node will not broadcast continuously.
